Blog

*WARNING*
If you're a homophobe (i.e. you hate gays and lesbians), don't click the link.

If not then you can try viewing the blog.

I'm extremly surprised that they are open about it and have even posted photos. It takes courage to do something like that. *respect*

I'm not gay (or at least I don't think so, bi maybe :P), but neither am I a homophobe. They're still humans after all and their sexual orientation is their choice in the end.

Wish them all the best.

If girls had to serve NS...

Sad sad day.

RIP 2004-2006
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the passing of a great pig. He has helped me endure countless hours in front of the computer and allowed me to have good support for my wrist.
Alas, he ruptured his stomach and his vital fluids came flowing out. Piggy is no more.
Piggy, you will be missed.

Evil NUS

Was trying to order an academic dress and came upon this interesting dilemia posed by NUS.

To buy or not to buy. That is THE question.

The choices are:

Buy

Rent
$45
$30 + $30 deposit. In addition, second hand dress. And you have to return it unharmed to get your deposit, and the deposit will only be mailed to you after 60 days.

So now you have the question. Do I want a $45 piece of cloth that I can use as a curtain or at best a table cloth? Or do I go throught the immense trouble or renting one.

As I said, NUS is subtle about it, but they are definately pushing people to just save the trouble and buy the dress.

Then there is also the temptation to get a really big dress so I can hide a unicycle underneath it just so I can ride on stage...

Comments on any used academic dresses (which I will return after errmmm some time)

Stupid game

Petals around the rose

Haven't figured it out, but there has got to be some stupid and simple answer to it.

Ok figured it out. As has been stated in page, 3 hints to help:

The name of the game (How many petals around the rose?) is very important.

The answer is always even.

The answer is always the same for the result of that set of thrown dice.

Just think simple.

Busy busy busy

Been really busy as of late to post anything. Just finding sometime here to write inconsequential stuff.

Had some rough moments lately. To those who know what's happening, thanks for the concern. I still have hope that everything will work out. To you know who, I'm willing to wait.

Project wise, it's been a real killer. Having a project group mate that goes AWOL half the time issn't helping.

Somehow, I still managed to find time to play soccer on 2 consecutive days and have sunburnt shoulders and sore muscles as a reward. I've fulfilled 1/3 requirements for tall, dark and handsome in being chao da dark. Who wants me? :P Not you Neng Giin. I don't want you.

Life seems to rotate around doing CS3214 project for 5 days a week, and spending my weekends catching up on all my other modules as well as sending out resumes. Anyone got job lobang in IT? I want!

Lastly, EPL season is coming to a close. COME ON YOU REDMEN! We can still catch Man USA for second. It's been a season of highs and lows, but of a general sense of "things are looking up". Hope next season will be an even better one.

Smugness

Why is it that some people have the absolutely smug face when they manage to get into the MRT just before the doors close?

It's like chest puffed out, nose held high, slight smile to oneself. Is it really such an acheivement?

Happenings of the day

During GEK1536 lessons.

Tutor drones on and on about a mathematical proof.
I get images of jungles and trees and ominous rumblings in the distance. Cue LOST, season 1536.

Tutor talks about blowing up a portion of the diagram.
I get images of people throwing a hand grenade into the room, shouting "FIRE IN THE HOLE!" and blowing the whole damm place up.

While queueing for food.

Guy behind me(ordering soft shell crab): Auntie I want 1 crab.
Auntie(shouting orders): 1 soft shell!
Guy: NO! NO! I want crab!
Auntie: o_0" *proceeds to ignore him*

In MRT

I saw this old lady try to give up her seat to a pregnant woman. Really saddened by this since there were so many young people around her.

Some random stuff

ECP is not just for East Coast Park, but also Eye Candy Park. Now you know why I like to jog. :P

Elections coming but I just remembered this incident when I was small. It was election day and I went with my parents to the voting center. I immediately said I liked the logo "with the lightning". I was small and had no idea about political parties (hmm not much has changed btw) but the it was the one thing that stuck out to me.

How good is a logo design? Is it good enough to subconciously push someone? Definately. Maybe the other parties should consider hiring a better designer.

Operation Pac Man is still on going. Check frequently for updates.

Flash mob can still be on, but I feel the time of opportunity has passed and the effect will not be there.

Pac Man

Seem to have found someone crazy enough to do it with me. My last hurrah.

A two finger salute to NUS for being such a boring place if you will.

Other plans: Flash mob. Meet outside THAT building in NUS, all participants dressed in white and act like elephants. Anyone interested?

Heard during tutorial

Some people shorten whores to ho's.

Tutor: .. so there are 2 whores (hosts) is this subnet ...

Then again, maybe it's my polluted mind.

Also heard:

*warning, gripe coming*

It was established during the tutorial that the common industry standard currently is slightly different from what is being taught in the lectures.

First question that came up: "So if this came out in the exam, what do we write?"

Shows how exam orientated students are. It's not about learning, it's about exams. I'm not critizing anything, just pointing out an observation.
